A total click is a redirect event, not necessarily a person. Human clicks exclude classified automation. Unique visitors are estimates whose time window and privacy method should be documented.
Separate preview traffic
Messaging apps, social networks and search engines open URLs to build previews or verify safety. Classify these events separately so a shared link does not appear successful before a recipient visits it.
Use dimensions carefully
Countries, devices, referrer hosts and UTM fields help explain distribution. Small groups should be aggregated or withheld when reporting them could create privacy risk.
